Viridia Blue is an independent consultancy focused on supporting the future of renewable and resilient energy. We provide strategic advisory services across offshore energy development, infrastructure resilience, and the transition to low-carbon systems. In an increasingly uncertain policy environment, we help organisations make confident decisions by delivering clear strategic guidance that reduces complexity, accelerates decision-making, and positions our clients at the forefront of a changing energy system.
The advisory relies on a strong analytical foundation and a global perspective. Our services are anchored in well-developed political and strategic capabilities, with deep specialisation in:
Offshore Wind Development: Navigating the technical and political nuances of offshore projects.
Energy Security: Creating strategies for robust supply chains and resilient systems.
Critical Infrastructure: Protecting the assets that power the future energy system and economy.
Energy technology and usage: Understanding the most crucial (renewable) energy systems and the technologies behind them.
Legal framework: Considering the juridical and complex environment of the laws surrounding the expansion of energy projects.
Viridia Blue is led by Simon Hein, drawing on high-level experience forged during the energy crisis of 2021. With a background in the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Supply, the firm brings hands-on expertise in ensuring responsible, dedicated strategies at the highest political levels - both nationally and within the EU.
Previously, Simon led the development of critical infrastructure as a dedicated field of expertise within the Ministry. This role provided in-depth knowledge of the systemic challenges the energy sector faces, as well as the dynamic solutions required to solve them.
Today, Viridia Blue applies this insider knowledge of government dynamics and regulatory frameworks to help clients navigate the complexities of the green transition.
